hdrfix command, hable tonemap with slightly more brightness and exposure left in and rather desaturating than blowing out. This is sometimes a good 'neutral' but should also work as decent basis for image editing w/ less contrast and color bias to deal with.

hdrfix command, reinhard tonemap with less gamma, tighter exposure and clipped color map. This tends to produce more dramatic shots with color preserved by default.

hdrfix command, reinhard-rgb tonemap with more gamma but less than by default, tighter exposure and clipped color map. This tends to produce a good alternative for the 'dramatic', trading the color preservation for clarity.

I've reduced it to three variant tonemaps that kinda mostly cover the typical use cases and it's probably impossible to automatically fix the remaining corner cases (which usually look bad onscreen too, usually raytracing/subsurface afaict.)
