Simultaneously hyped and dead-tired.
A two-week frenzy of every minute, 10hrs a day of mornings, class, prep, lunch, and after school... but I got 10 of the 12 failing seniors across the line. They get to walk that stage next weekend, 4 of them first graduates of their family.

Avoided for months, every display of educational trauma.
Then we worked 1v1, got a win, & came back hungry for more. Stayed late. Wanted to show what they could do.
Got their highest grade ever.
Look at how happy, how proud they are.
And I'm smiling just as big.

But yesterday, I got a bunch of kids who are 2-5 grade levels below peer norms excited about the possibilities of math by showing them imaginary numbers and making references to the Quantum Realm.

That feeling when the kid that drove me nuts, that would cuss me out, skip class, steal, start fights, and every other trauma outlet... keeps sneaking into this part of the building to say hi and chat.
That's right, kid.
