Researchers highlight school-readiness disadvantage gap - CYP Now A growing disadvantage gap in relation to school readiness is being highlighted by academics, with analysis showing only half of children on free school meals (FSM) were school ready last year.

Need many more #healthvisitors, who reach all <5s, if Gov is to meet its pledge to improve rates of school readiness to 75% of all pupils by 2028.

Currently 32.3% of all reception class children and 48.5% of those on free school meals are not ready to start school.
