Well, today is the last #HigherEdVotes post before next week's election. A couple of months ago, I started posting every Tuesday about encouraging #StudentVoting on campus. It was one of the ways I felt I could do my small part for the greater good.
It's #HigherEdVotes Tuesday. Counting today, we have TWO Tuesdays remaining before #ElectionDay2024.
I thought today for our #HigherEdVotes post that we might do a #RollCall.

Since many #VoterRegistration dates have passed or will passed soon, it's time to transition to getting registered student voters to actually vote. Many students might be of the mindset that voting doesn't matter. Helping our students see that they are a huge, powerful voting bloc is critical. As promised, I'm posting every Tuesday before Election Day with voting information and tips for all of us and for our students. Including today, there are 12 Tuesdays remaining before we all vote. Today's tip: CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION! Your student says, "Yup, I'm registered." But are they? If students tell you they're registered to vote, make sure they include checking their voter registration as part of their voting plans. And you do the same. Many states have been "purging" voter registrations. Costa’s advice: “Reduce uncertainty. Create a simple plan for election week, and start gently communicating it as soon as you can. Let students know what they can expect.” But first, she adds, “take care of yourself. Put your oxygen mask on first. In addition to a voting plan, do you have a mental- and physical-health plan in place for election week?”
