Approaching the end of my first day of a #hungerstrikeforgaza (which I should probably call #250calstrikeforgaza since I am eating 250 cal/day in solidarity with their average intake right now.)
I’m hungry!
But today the UN said 100% of the pop’n was now at risk of famine there. So, I continue.
And for the record I have been donating to aid orgs that work in Palestine for years. I know it doesn’t get in right now, but I trust they are doing other helpful things with the money during the blockade.

I’m starting my solidarity #hungerstrikeforgaza today. I’m still figuring out exactly how I will do it. I saw that some people were doing 250 cal/day since they claimed that was the average amount eaten by most people there.
But the number seems to come from thin air and I want to do some digging.
History will only look with favor on those who actually *did something*. Words are not enough anymore. They never really were, but now more than ever.
So, join me in protest. We must pressure our leaders to
-enact 100% sanctions
-stop weapons sale
-freeze assets

The arrest comes as Lizzie recovers from a 35 day hunger strike protesting the UK funding and arming of Israel's genocide in Gaza, amidst a broad and heavyhanded crackdown on Palestine activists in Manchester. Further details of the arrest remain unknown. 5 other Manchester activists were also forcibly arrested and detained by the GMP, but released without charge. Despite a lack of evidence/charges, all activists have had cars, phones and/or personal items indefinitely confiscated and were given a strict police curfew. Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham recently granted police "total powers" to investigate the theft of a Weizmann Statue from Manchester University - powers seemingly being abused by the GMP in order to intimidate, isolate and harass Palestine campaigners.
