When fem or androgenous presenting people infodump, they just get to infodump. But when masc presenting neurodivergent people infodump, they get shamed for mansplaining. Even though there is no condescending assumption that someone doesn't know something. We just find joy in going over the information. It's part of how we connect with people. It definitionally is not mansplaining. People yell at us for the exact same behaviors they have no problem with fem and androgynous people doing. There are a handful of common patterns of legitimate misandry on the left. And this is one of them. I'm really sick of it. I will not be shamed for harmless autistic behaviors just because I happen to present masculine.
To be clear. Mansplaining is a real thing, and a real issue. But what makes mansplaining mansplaining is that of intent. Mansplaining comes from a place of patronizing condescension. Infodumping comes from a place of joy in information, and connecting with others. Infodumping is repetitive and occurs completely regaurdless of whether or not someone already knows the information. They are two completely different things. Intent really matters.
I'm just really fucking sick of getting shamed for being autistic just because of the way I look. It's fuck up. I'm not having it anymore. I'm calling this shit out more in my personal life and just wanted to use my platform to talk about the issue while I'm at it. Just, consider both intent and presence of autism before jumping to shaming for mansplaining, is all I'm trying to say.
