Just to add:

5. Replace Drew Harris.

It's insane to me that Helen McEntee is so supportive of a Commissioner that 98.7% of rank and file Garda requested him to stand down in a vote of no confidence.

Amount of sex offences unsolved is 'demoralising' - DRCC The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has described the fact that up to 80% of sexual offences remain unsolved as "demoralising and dispiriting for victims.

Worrying figures: Just 8% of fraud and sexual offences are detected

And of that small percentage only a fifth reported to the gardaí lead to a prosecution.

This needs to be a focus for the upcoming government. Read their manifestos on crime carefully.

Crime stats by Region:

Dublin's per capita crime rate of 2.5k incidents per 100k people for theft offences, twice the state average, more than 3 times as much as the north western region.

Detection levels are lower in Dublin too, meaning the real crime rate is even higher.

Deprivation, crime, and migrants fuelling 'community trauma' in Dublin's inner city, study finds Research says an-ever increasing number of 'already traumatised' asylum seekers and international protection applicants were being housed in a community with 'existing and historic levels of trauma'

"the biggest factor (75%) contributing to trauma in the area was long-term socioeconomic deprivation.

271 Gardaí per 100k people in Dublin, this compares to 380 per 100k in London. Couple that with a housing crisis and this is inevitable.
