Yesterday's Autumn Budget set out the Labour Government’s priorities that will shape communities, services, and local growth ahead.

We hope the focus remains on community-driven growth and pulling working people out of poverty.

📜The Employment Rights Bill returns to the Lords today.

📢We’re urging peers to stand firm on their amendments.

❌Without these changes, the Bill could reduce flexible, local job opportunities across the UK.

Employers told to step up and help disabled people. But is it enough? The Department for Work and Pensions has announced that 60 employers will join forces with the government to help disabled people.

'The review fundamentally misunderstands that people are disabled by societal and workplace barriers.'

Disability Rights UK's Mikey Erhardt on how the #KeepBritainWorking Review misses the mark.

1/4 Today, the government published the Keep Britain Working review on how to support more disabled people in employment. At Mencap, we know that 86% of people with a learning disability who are not in work want a paid job 💼

1️⃣1️⃣ 💬 The UK needs honest policymaking not PR.

We can’t “keep Britain working” while erasing the pandemic’s impact.

We need clean air, infection prevention, and recognition for those disabled by Long Covid.

Otherwise, you’re just keeping people sick.

2️⃣ The report says:

> “There are 800,000 more people out of work due to ill health than before 2019.”

Yet it never asks what happened in 2019–2020 to cause that shift.

You can’t fix a workforce crisis while pretending the pandemic didn’t happen.

Charlie Mayfield, #KeepBritainWorking review boss, was invited by Today Radio 4 to talk about #Welfare cuts. Focus was on employer support for workers with mental health conditions. Well needed indeed but if you get ill, you go on occupational ir statutory sick pay not disability benefit #LCWRA
