Midnight Tsunami
Roof shingles slap
house trembles
hands to chest I beat
against the wall of you,
a storm
re-shaping my shelter
splintered thousands of lies ago.
I see your face on the window
fingers on the doorknob
knocking me upside the head.
Untamed sea,
my gray matter swells
salt sloshes into wounds.
Memories
hurt themselves.
Hurricane fears crash
onto the coastline
of my thin skin.
Blue heart already undertow
I cannot sleep
for the spin of your gales woes me.
Fatigued leagues below sea level
my eyes film, mouth opens, scales shed.
Still
still
still, I breathe.
Won’t let you
become my morning light.
