Nitrocid 0.2.0.x and 0.1.0.x now available on WinGet! As part of our efforts to make Nitrocid more accessible and easier to use, we have incorporated more packaging options last year with the addition of Nitrocid's Windows Installer and Arch Linux PKGBUILD files for each release. This has increased the number of ways to install Nitrocid more easily. Thanks to our efforts spent to create a Windows Installer for Nitrocid, we have introduced a new way to install Nitrocid seamlessly for Windows 11 users.

Nitrocid 0.2.0 and 0.1.0 are now available on WinGet!

Nitrocid 0.1.2 has officially become EOL Nitrocid 0.1.2, which was released on February 2025, has ended its official support as of February 12th of this year. When Nitrocid 0.2.0 gets released, this means that we have ended support for Nitrocid 0.1.2 as we move forward. Nitrocid 0.1.2 provided more features, such as SMultivar, Pomodoro timer, commands, and much more, alongside many improvements that were shipped with this version of the simulator.

If you're running Nitrocid 0.1.2, it has become end of life as of today. You'll need to upgrade for continued support.

Nitrocid’s old revived docs are now available! We've just released Nitrocid 0.2.0 as part of the huge milestone today, alongside the branding kit. But, there is still more for this huge milestone! The biggest thing has happened since the history of Nitrocid! We've managed to revive the old documentation of Nitrocid from version 0.0.6 to 0.0.23, which were released from 2019 to 2022. Now, the docs for those versions are now available in our GitBook instance!

Reviving old Nitrocid Documentation While we are gathering information about how we plan to finalize the documentation for the upcoming Nitrocid release, we've discovered an interesting way to revive the old Nitrocid documentation. Before we get into details into how we did it, here's some background information about the original Nitrocid documentation. When version 0.0.6 was still in development, we did it as part of the executable using embedded resources.

Why do some of our projects get more updates than others? Our release cadence involves setting up a set of rules that every release of every project must follow. Nitrocid follows a ten-year release support window for long-term support releases, while short-term releases get 9 months of updates. So, the question here is why do some of our projects, such as Terminaux and Nitrocid, get more releases that focus on improvements and bug fixes than other projects, such as Textify and Magico?

Nitrocid and Terminaux get frequent updates, while others get less frequent updates.

Terminaux 8.2 will include QR code renderer! While implementing the two-factor authentication (2FA) feature on Nitrocid KS, we thought it would be wise to include a QR code setup so that people who are using their phones to authenticate to their Nitrocid user will be able to quickly add the authentication information for them to get the 6-digit code they need to enter to be able to log in.

Terminaux 8.2 will include the QR code renderer!

Nitrocid 0.2.0 has entered the final touches stage! Nitrocid 0.2.0, which is an anticipated release of the next major version of Nitrocid after v0.1.0 version series that provides a plethora of improvements and new features, has finally entered the "Final Touches" stage! We are very close to the final release of Nitrocid 0.2.0 and Terminaux 8.1, while the latter comes after to tomorrow! We are very excited to have moved forward to this level, because without Terminaux, none of this would have been possible.

We have been working on Nitrocid 0.2.0 since early February of the last year, when we were planning to release it as 0.1.3, which was another patch release on top of the 0.1.0 series. Changes made to the kernel and to the build system led to changing the plan for the release to 0.2.0, which will be released on February 12th.

Nitrocid 0.1.2 end of support reminder Nitrocid 0.1.2 was released on February 27th, 2025, to integrate many interesting changes that transformed the experience of our users. It added several features, including the audio cues and startup/shutdown sounds, new themes, multiple variable settings to group individual settings, and Arch Linux and Windows Installer packaging. According to our release support policy, this version of Nitrocid was supposed to only be supported until November 27th, 2025, which means only nine months.

For those who are running Nitrocid 0.1.2, February 12th will be the last support day!

Mouse improvements in Terminaux 8.1 Since Terminaux 4.0, mouse support was added to make C# console applications more interactive. After a large gap between now and the last patch released for the two supported series, version 0.1.0.x and 0.1.2.x, we've now released Nitrocid 0.1.0.64 and 0.1.2.30.
