While I'm hot #knittingtips, if you're doing short row shaping for the first time, be mindful when counting your stitches!
First time I did short rows, I counted both loops of my double-stitch, rather than counting as a single stitch - don't do what I did bc you'll panic for nothing!

1. Mark where you will be cutting before reinforcing to avoid crossing the cut.
2. Place a magazine inside your project when cutting to avoid cutting floats 😱
