Screenshot of two new measures introduced for LEAF Marque v.17, under "Soil and Substrate Management". The first: "control point added to encourage businesses to transition away from using peat-based growing media." The second: "Control point added to encourage businesses to source plants propagated in peat-free growing media where appropriate."

In May 2024 we responded to a consultation on the #LEAFMarque standard that recognises #farming with reduced impact on the #environment.

Beginning next May, the new version will include measures aimed at eliminating peat-based growing media.
