Followed a child-friendly afternoon with a 16mm collection of transgressions from simpler days; punk filmmakers answering Warhol, Lean and Waters. So of course, a justified killing spree, carpet shagging, Brief Encounter turned explicitly gay and this girl talking in farts were to be expected.

This imagination-centric, 52-minute programme mostly of animation for families did not deserve to begin with a nicely done promo for NFT garbage, but still offered a fine showcase of this era’s prettiest 2D, the most practical of student claymation and an 8mm sock mystery with a lovely twist.

Had an incredible time at this show of documentaries on trans life and liberation in the 70’s, and listening to Roz Kaveney afterwards. Rolling at that one old man who said sex changes are wrong and felt content with his gender, only for his wife to remind him he’s often wished he was a woman.

Attended this near-empty local showing of #LSFF ’s kids programme right before it screened in London. Some beautifully realised animations about friendship, but Adele Dipasquale’s wholly original demonstration of sensory storytelling Lose Voice Tool Kit made me feel like a little autistic kid again.

Saw some comedies and experiments from two friends who like Elvis very much. Even hung out with him until he died of old age and poisonous flower consumption. Even met Christ on Mars and represented Jaws on his comeback tour. It feels good to laugh with Harry again. Much applause for Stouffer!

A watercolour travelogue raising questions on the comfort of imagination, the malleability of identity and what defines a perfect utopia, Sultana’s Dream nevertheless lacks anything new to say about safety in womanhood, yet the execution remains enchanting as to make up for its missing pieces.
