This is a CRT Series 5000 articulated set, built back in 1947 by Pullman/St. Louis Car Co. for the Chicago Rapid Transit Company. Only four sets were ever built as the CRT was absorbed into the CTA, which resulted in the 5000 Series being redesigned into the 6000 Series. The 5000 Series sets were originally meant for subway service, but would end up spending their lives being sent all over the "L". They were finally retired in 1985, after over 30 years of service. Currently two sets survive, Car/Set 5001 (51) at the Fox River Trolley Museum & Car/Set 5002 (52) the "Paul Revere" at the Illinois Railway Museum. The version I have made is an as-built condition set from either manufacture.
Might've gone off the deep end...
Anyways, enjoy the CRT's articulated monster of an "L" train.
