A screen shot from a document from 1992: Milking a bovine cow is a delicate operation and not as easy as some might think. It takes a special touch for the cow to cooperate with the procedure. The hands must be warm and gentle or the cow can become agitated which will prevent the let-down of milk. Since we could not find any experts in the field of milking dolphins, we were on our own.

This, my friends, is how you open a scientific paper. 🍿

GUESS WHAT! An animals milk contains clues about its parental behavior.

The relatively low fat & protein, high sugar content of buffalo milk means the energy won’t last the baby very long if left alone, suggesting they are “follow” mammals, who keep their babies close at all times.
