A photograph of a shirtless teenage boy seated cross‑legged on an unmade bed, holding a revolver up in one hand with the barrel pointed upward. He is turned slightly to his right, his gaze directed to the side rather than at the camera. The background is plain and uncluttered, keeping the focus on the boy’s posture and the gun he holds.
A photograph of a young man lying back against a pile of pillows on what appears to be a bed or mattress, holding a baby on his legs while he smokes a cigarette. The baby rests across his lower body, looking out of the frame or upward, and the scene feels informal and candid, the focus entirely on the quiet, intimate moment captured between the man and the infant.
I pulled Larry Clark’s 'Tulsa' down from my bookshelf today. It’s a book that always hits hard. Shot in the late 60s, documenting life with his friends. Raw, unflinching, and still uncomfortable to look at.
.
Curious how others feel about it.
