Great "seeing" everyone tonight. Thank you for the insights and the laughs. Being instrumental instead of incidental to informal learning will only raise L&D's profile and value within an organization. It will happen with or without us. #LearnChat

Yes, it's definitely not part-time work for one or two people! An entire team should be dedicated to its use, maintenance, and reporting. #LearnChat

As I meet with my audience, I want to ask them about the last time they learned something at work without attending a formal event: How did they learn that, and what did they think of the experience? Hopefully I can build on that to make it even better for them. #LearnChat

A7) That I need to talk more about the value of recognition of prior learning! It is one the key lenses I use to design workforce development strategies in the skill development work I do in Canada. #LearnChat

A6) I don’t want to change the default from courses to workflow learning.

I want there not to be a default solution at all.

A6) Recognize all types of learning beyond just the formal. Informal and non formal learning needs to be identified, recognized and validated - system-wide so that “learning in the flow” becomes the preferred way across the org #LearnChat #RecognitionofPriorLearning #RPL

As useful as I find the AI tool at work, I would still prefer a DAP. Using the AI requires me to shift foucs to that window, then perhaps to a window with a resource, then to the window where I'm working. A DAP meets me where I am. #LearnChat

a6) a culture of cooperation. Being willing to help, or ask therefore, when needed. #learnchat

A5) Before sending an article to an editor a few years ago, I gave it to ChatGPT and asked it to make it 30% shorter, since editors always tell me I’m “wordy”.

It did.

Then I got curious.
“Tell me what you cut, and why”

I did that regularly until a realized I no longer needed to.

a5) can you do 'stealth' learning? Do you need conscious reflection? Not with biologically primary, presumably, but biologically secondary (c.f. Geary)? Truly don't know. #learnchat

A4) AI will deliver on the promise and value of “Learning in the Flow of Work” not by being a “Flow of Work” tool, but by changing the workplace so “Flow of Work” behaviors are a natural part of the workplace.
