Automation isn’t “cheating” — it’s how I save brain and body for writing and rest. Shoutout to Buffer for making batch-posting a breeze!

"Normal platitudes, which can mostly be summed up as "This too shall pass", don't apply when you have a treatment-resistant, severely disabling disease that will last your entire life."

I've said many times that where you sit & how you sit are some of the most important aspects of disabled life! I don't spend money on anything else except things that will make my life a bit easier/more 'comfortable'.

#LifeWithDisability Individual worth should not be characterized by the "work" we can do. So many people in the disabled community work extra hard to show they are "worthy," many hiding or masking their disability and overworking themselves to remain "valuable." #TrueStory #IDoItToo

Let's have a little chat about disability because it seems that many people don't understand what disability is. Almost everyone I meet has an 'idea' of disabled in their mind. They don't realize there are different kinds of #disability and that it can fluctuate from day to day.

That EDS Life
✔️ If your condition stops you from doing something, then it is a disability.
✔️ If your condition makes it difficult for you to do a task, then it is a disability.
✔️ Don't let others tell you you are 'not disabled enough' and invalidate your experience.

Pom Seedss
✔️ If your condition allows you to do something fine but then spend days or weeks in agony recovering from it, then it is a disability.

✔️Just because you're technically able to do the thing doesn't mean the consequences aren't disabling.

Thehissingshrimp

✔️ Also a disability does not have to be an everyday disability. Even if you may have weeks or months between flare-ups, disability does not disappear on the days you feel well. You should not feel guilty over having a 'good' day.

Invisible Disabilities: I Believe You

Three simple words can validate another person’s experiences: I BELIEVE YOU. Be aware of people with #InvisibleIllness & #Disability. Not all of us are visible.

Heartbreak No. 1. I haven’t been able to wear high heels for many years now. I have kept many of my heels in hopes that a time would come again where I could wear them. How and when does one decide to let them go?
