A Linux (unix based) terminal screen clogged with scary red, orange and white boot-up failure notices, none of which is particularly comprehensible, but all of which are clearly the result of many, many clever people working decade-upon-decade to make electrons do clever things like breathing at least enough minimal life into hardware so as to present error messages akin to the shouts of a drowning man.
