An opportunity to improve #PowerBI formatting pane UI.
Legacy display does things right, contrast of field buckets indicates to user where fields are (un)available with differing colours to that of the panel itself.
Light & dark modes are inconsistent. More difficult to see fields

Then there's #PowerBI's "Conditional" Formatting. It's misnamed, because it is hardly conditional. You can't set things by DAX; you can't conditionally change the colors of specific DataBars; the color picker doesn't even remember the last color you used elsewhere in the app.

What's worse, #PowerBI bookmarks aren't integrated with most common way that users actually *interact* with a dashboard - Slicers. What a waste, because we could change what is presented to a user based on what they just chose. Typical #LowPowerBI design.
Buttons OR slicers? Why not both?

#Excel has let natively scale Sparklines for years. I have used this to great advantage over there. We won't see these options natively in #LowPowerBI anytime soon, despite this. Like many other #PowerBI vis features, sparklines were born but hardly matured. They remain anemic, lackluster, weak.

I've been a hardcore #PowerBI lobbyist since at least 2019. Here's an early example, where I actually managed to get a response from Amir Netz in response to complaining about the lack of Sparklines in #LowPowerBI. We finally got them, but they remain a shadow of the ones in #Excel to this day.

Okay folks. This is the start of what is going to be one hell of a long thread where I catalogue all my complaints about #PowerBI shortcomings - mostly in the visual layer.
