Trans woman in a dark blue dress with navy blue tights, and black low-heeled Mary Jane style shoes. A row of gender-neutral toilets and a common washing up area I’d behind her.

Am traveling internationally today and thus am only ambiguous looking, but spent the last four days being visible at #MTHF25

Kayla participated in what was styled as a Transgender Weekend of Visibility at #MTHF25 in Victoria, but inasmuch as I’m traveling back to the USA today on my passport, I have to be slightly more subtle in my #TDOV observance and not make the US border people at YVR unhappy.

We have made it to the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. The 4 PM ferry shown in Maps does not exist. Had we known that, we could have hung around at #MTHF25 for another hour and kept socializing. No wonder the route 70 bus to the ferry was not busy.

It seems prudent for me to travel in boy mode back to Vancouver from #MTHF25 but we don’t have to be happy about it.

@cherylmorgan.bsky.social and I at the lectern of #MTHF25 shortly after closing. My top only evokes the trans pride flag, rather than being a close match.

Sadly it is time to head for the ferry to Vancouver. So long, Victoria, see you in two years’ time. #MTHF25

And speaking of standing ovations, Dr. Aaron DeVore, who has announced his intention to step down as the Chair in Transgender Studies in the next year or so, got a standing ovation and flowers. #MTHF25

Just to show that there actually are lots of people attending #MTHF25 not even including the many people attending online. Most of my pictures have been from the front of the rooms where folks are reluctant to sit.

There were 300 trans kids who applied to be on this panel. That’s hugely impressive. Well done, Canada. #MTHF25 🇨🇦🏳️‍⚧️

A lovely group of young trans people (ages 14-18) at #MTHF25 — so encouraging and exciting to see these happy people living their best lives.

Back at U.Vic. for the final event of #MTHF25. As is traditional, it is a youth panel with a bunch of trans teenagers on it.

A more casual look for the final day of #MTHF25 — it’s only coincidental that the top sort of evokes the trans flag colors during what the conference organizers are calling the Trans Weekend of Visibility.

Disappointment of the day: I missed the @rikiwilchins.bsky.social presentation because it was scheduled against my session. #MTHF25

Interesting evening browsing the trans archives at U.Vic.. They have a lot of UK material because no British university would take it. Found copies of the fashion column I wrote for the Beaumont Society back in the 1990s. #MTHF25

It is time for my panel, but first up is a paper about a contemporary Jewish person who identifies as a Tumtum. This makes the historian of the ancient world in me very happy. #MTHF25

Very relieved to have a wonderful panel of trans elders at #MTHF25 to distract me from the rugby disaster in Caerdydd. Also a wonderful panel of trans women academics doing history about trans women.

Like many of the panels at #MTHF25 this panel is hybrid, with some presenters participating remotely. The conference overall is online, with many people watching online. I’m lucky to have been able to come to Canada in person, but of course many people are unable to travel.

You wouldn’t know it because people are reluctant to sit at the front tables, but the room is packed for the Trans Elders panel at #MTHF25

Wonderful mirrors near the gender neutral single occupancy restrooms at the #MTHF25 venue show off the pattern of this dress.

We have a great suite at the Doubletree Victoria. Here’s my fit for today at #MTHF25 — fortunately, the morning rain has cleared so I only need my coat, not an umbrella.

I’m letting Kayla use my account while she attends #MTHF25 in Victoria, until she gets around to getting her own account.

I didn’t write much about #MTHF25 yesterday because I was too focused on the presentations, but this looks like a fascinating book: sunypress.edu/Books/A/A-Hi...
