Dear Rachael I am writing to you on behalf of the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) to send you our full solidarity. We are appalled to hear of your suspension. Since your election, you have supported so many vital campaigns for the wider trade union and labour movement. We have been proud to work alongside you on vital issues like defending the right to strike and demanding to make equality real – seeing an end to austerity, Your support and championing of these issues matters to the 6.7 million trade union members in our country. It also represents the exact values that this Labour Government should living up to. At the last General Election, our society voted for change, on the manifesto pledge to ‘Make Work Pay’. The suspension of you and other MPs is a direct attack on this promise of change and manifesto pledge. We will continue to support you and send you full solidarity at this time and in the future.
