2. Great twists; compelling story.
3. Bun and Tan were a ton of fun, especially Bun. His level of snark was on point!

In terms of classic uni-based Thai BLs, a couple of very nice ones are #UntilWeMeetAgain (note the warning for suicide in ep 1) and #BadBuddy. For older shows with grownup characters, I’d maybe suggest these: #LovelyWriter, #MannerOfDeath and #KinnPorsche. (I think you said you’d seen #NotMe.)
OK, so all of those are grownup BLs. Continuing that theme, I’d suggest maybe #MoonlightChicken (YouTube) - a slice of life with lots of feelings - or #MannerOfDeath (WeTV) - murder mystery starring the Thai kings of BL Max & Tul.
Is there a manga version too? Goodness, I didn’t realise. 😮 #MannerOfDeath was probably one of the first BL dramas I watched where the BL
romance wasn’t the main (only!) plot line. It’s not perfect by any means, but is still a worthwhile recommended watch. I’m glad you’ve got a soft spot for it too.
On a personal note, I’ve met one of the lead actors in #MannerOfDeath, Max Nattapol. He is absolutely lovely; a total sweetheart. I was in Bangkok (when I could travel before becoming sick/disabled etc), and my friend and I visited Max’s bar on my birthday. We ended up chatting with him for ages. ❤️
The author of this - and several other medical murder mystery BL books that have been turned into dramas - is Sammon, herself a practising family doctor. She gets very involved in productions based on her books, and often works as medical advisor to the shows. #MannerOfDeath
I need a drama book to recommend for day 16 of the Asian dramas rec challenge. Regrettably, despite so many (many!) dramas being based on books, I haven’t read any. So instead, I’ll choose a drama for which I at least *own* a copy of the book: excellent Thai murder mystery BL drama #MannerOfDeath.
It was still open and running as a venue when I was in Chiang Mai in late 2022, and I had intended to visit just for the #MannerOfDeath of it all. But then, of course, I caught covid and the rest (of my life) is history.
