On #ThisDayInHistory in 1918, the US convicted lesbian #IWW activist #MarieEqui of #sedition for holding up an #AntiWar banner reading "Prepare to die, workingmen, J.P. Morgan & Co. want preparedness for profit." The #EspionageAct forbade criticism of the government and military.
