I stumbled upon a nice video overview of the #mathKangaroo annual competition! #mtbos #iteachmath #mathisfun #mathCompetition - again this year @trianglemath.bsky.social is hosting (we're expecting around 80 students).
I'm going to ask my level 4 students these #mathKangaroo problems (freely available at mathkangaroo.org/mks/practice/free-question-samples) in class. The first two I think they'll find easy; for the logic problem I wonder how they'll represent the problem. #mtbos #iteachmath #mathisfun

In level 4 we started w/a #mathisfun challenge question re: finding when pg 100 is read if i pgs are read on day i inspired by an article in #NCTM's Oct2024 Mathematics Teacher; in prealg we tried #mathKangaroo problem re: finding next number w/symbols. Students solved them both! #mtbos #iteachmath
Today is our last level 3 class :-( ... except for an optional one nxt wk :-) . I'll start w/2 interesting #mathKangaroo #mathisfun problems (2nd is bit difficult-usually before a test I give easy warmups), review (fractions, estimating, area), then have 1h test. I hope Ss enjoy! #mtbos #iteachmath
