We had a great time at #MathFest, particularly at our Meet the Authors event! Thank you to everyone who stopped by!
Some #mathart I got to see at #mathfest this week, including @rebin3.bsky.social www.tumblr.com/mathhombre/7... and Beth Malmskog

#mathfest in-need-of-coffee-time selfie.
It was wonderful to catch up with Terence Tao at #MathFest, seen here with his book, An Introduction to Measure Theory.
Great to reconnect with @rebin3.bsky.social at #mathfest. Good follow for math games, creative problems, and especially islamic geometry. #IGP
Sincere request to @joinmaa.bsky.social after another overloaded, info-dense day at #mathfest: is there any way to set up a repository of all the PowerPoint decks and PDFs presented here? Too many interesting overlapping sessions, too many sessions moving too fast for meaningful note-taking.
Unsolicited advice to presenters, make it easier to see/find your name and materials. One quick QR code at the end is not good in most rooms. #mathfest
#mathfest math circles contributed papers. First session: graph challenges. Graph with 3 connected components, graph of our table, cultural graph: stickies about what makes us who we are, edges for connections. Present ideas/theorems as true facts or guesses about their graphs and data.
Even though I'm still tired from #SIAMAnnual, I'm here at #MathFest and keep running into such great folks it lifts my spirits!!
Looking forward to the #BIOSIGMAA event this afternoon :D
Next up: #mathfest Beth Malmskog, squaring the quilting circle. I gave a closely related problem from our great quilter friend Elizabeth to Brian Drake and he made a great activity for it!
#mathfest Reacting to the Past history role playing game. Our history dept uses these a lot, would be cool for our math history capstone. They're developing one on Markov vs Nekrasov, central limit theorem, battle over free will. Moscow vs St Petersburg vs France vs Germany
Even if the world is not so festive right now, looking forward to #MathFest!
Active. Equitable. Doable. #mathfest Maria Mercedes Franco. Queensborough Community College. Not how to, but what I've tried. Active learning = problem solving, discussion and reflection. Equitable = fairness and opportunity for all. Should call them best practices!

Mow @stevenstrogatz is giving a plenary talk on Synchronization in Nature, highlighting synchronization phenomena from the coupling of metronome clocks to the wobbling of the London Millenium Bridge. @maanow #MathFest
I'll be giving a talk on this preprint with @dylanhmorris, Simon Levin, Dan Rubenstein, and @PRomanczuk, in which use SIS models, replicator equations, and adaptive dynamics to study the evolution of social interaction rates. @maanow #MathFest...
I'm really looking forward to the @maanow #MathFest session tomorrow on Current Research in Math Biology, which is organized by Rebecca Everett and @mostnerdy and includes talks from Katharine Gurski, Miranda Teboh Ewungkem, @BioMathNard, Allison Lewis, and Jana Gevertz.

I love hearing how people use their STEM framing to talk about false dichotomies (for example equity and excellence or industry and academia). Suzanne Weekes talks about composites - straw or mud on its own can't build what the composite brick can. #Maathfest #Mathfest
CMPM chat hour in 15 min, noon - 1 (Thursday 8/4) at the MAA pavilion greenspace at the back of the exhibit hall. #Maathfest #Mathfest @maanow
I'm really enjoying attending @maanow #MathFest for the firat time this year.
Chris Jett giving his Invited Address at @maanow #Mathfest challenging us to think ahead about how we will handle attacks on CRT and sharing useful approaches to antiracist teaching.
#AwkwardBoardingSelfie is a thing again. Also, yes, my hair IS really that purple! Off to #Mathfest #disruptmath #DAAAAMN
