My son has done a thing.
He wanted to know how basic he could make mead.
No stabilizers, no fining agents. Just water, yeast, and honey. And one yeast is bread yeast.
Scientific curiosity is strong in this one. We'll see how it goes.

Mead update: I checked on six meads today—Blueberry Cinnamon, Boar’s Blood Punch, Banana Fluffer Nutter, Apple Pie, Sarsaparilla, and Wild Plum. Boar’s Blood and Apple Pie need more time, but the others are ready to rack, filter, flavor, sweeten, and bottle.
