After the Austrian Constitutional Court having found Sect 9/1 Data Protection Act (DSG) unconstitutional & repealed it, effective by 30/06/2024, #Art85 #GDPR requires AT to replace it by a new national #MediaExemption. It's already a political issue.

Yesterday, MEPs rejected Amendment 511 in the #DSA that would have created a de facto #MediaExemption. This amendment was opening the door to what @MariaRessa called “industrial-scale #disinformation” and we welcome this decision.
If we do not want to open the door to massive disinformation in the #DSA, amendments 511 and 513 – both suggested by the publishing industry - should be rejected by MEPs. Why? 👇🧵
