At the "Mediatization vs. #Datafication" conference, we are discussing the use of #QSort in #mediatization research on the basis of a presentation by S. Zylinski. The possibilities here go far beyond #mediarepertoires and also concern the changing "structures of feeling" and #visualcommunication.
#Mediatization as a concept is concerned with capturing the interrelationship between the transformation of media and communication on the one hand and that of #culture and #society on the other from a long-term perspective.
With reference to Olivier Driessens' presentation at the conference "Mediatization vs. datafication-Dialogues or competition?": In my view, the point is not that #datafication does not also mean a "research programme", but with a different scope than #mediatization research.
The conference "Mediatization vs. datafication—Dialogues or competition?" in Lublin continues, including an interesting presentation by O. Driessens on "Reconstructing #mediatization and #datafication into a productive research program".
On Friday, ZeMKI member @ahepp.bsky.social will give a keynote speech at the #Mediatization Conference 5 – "Mediatization versus #Datafication Dialogue or Competition?”.
