Former Test cricketer Michael Slater sentenced over strangulation, assault Judge Glen Cash said alcoholism had brought an end to the cricketer and television host's career, while handing down a prison sentence.

#MichaelSlater has been sentenced to four years in prison but will walk free after already serving more than a year in custody. He pleaded guilty to seven charges including domestic violence. "It's obvious Mr Slater that you are an alcoholic." - judge
