Downtown Grand Rapids has exciting plans to build a trial connecting 9,000 acres of public land between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven. The trail, known as the Greenway, will be 36 miles long following the river to connect the two cities and all the land in between. The goal is to make the land more accessible to be explored on foot, by bike, or by kayak. Would you try out the 36-mile trek?
This could be one of the biggest tourism attractions in Michigan when it's completed. #MichiganSky

In Chenoweth’s data set, it was only once the nonviolent protests had achieved that 3.5% threshold of active engagement that success seemed to be guaranteed – and raising even that level of support is no mean feat. In the UK it would amount to 2.3 million people actively engaging in a movement (roughly twice the size of Birmingham, the UK’s second largest city); in the US, it would involve 11 million citizens – more than the total population of New York City. The fact remains, however, that nonviolent campaigns are the only reliable way of maintaining that kind of engagement. In Michigan (where I live now) 3.5% of our population is 354,916 people. In my smol red county–it's a matter of finding 10,367 people who aren't segregationist assholes. Possibly more challenging because it's a red/rural area, but it's not an absurd or impossible objective... #MichiganSky
