'this game is such a mixed bag for me. i went into this expecting a fairly breezy platformer but was met with some of the hardest 2d platforming levels that rival I Wanna Be The Guy, it was insanely brutal. I did somehow manage to beat it, but it took me a WHILE to get it done, not including the bonus levels, just the base 16 levels.
character designs are good, I mean this is Wayforward we're talking about, they're gonna be oddly curvy for what is supposed to be a family game but I don't necessarily mind it. What I do mind is the voice acting for the main character is atrocious. Does not fit the seemingly serious outward demeanor the character is supposed to have, and her calling out "yummy!" whenever she picks up a health item got old FAST.
Besides the character designs, the pixel art was great. I chose to play this over the remake that was included in the collection (played this on PC) because I like my pixel art, well worth doing that. Music isn't super memorable, but that really isn't what you come to these type of games for.
Overall if you're looking for a ball-busting challenge of a game, yeah go get this. I think I'm good calling it here and not continuing the rest of the series (all 2 other games!) but I had fun while the first game lasted I guess."
may have went a little overboard on this review lol
