State Councillor T. Burkart, Amb. J. Gerber, GICHD Director & Amb. T. Privitelli, & FSD Director H. Eberle highlighted the impact of landmines & how #MineAction enables safe reconstruction.
By identifying #risks, reporting dangerous objects and sharing #safety advice with neighbours, Oleksandr’s efforts complement FSD’s #MineAction work in the area — helping reduce risks while clearance and risk education activities take place.

Last month, FSD travelled to #Sudan to meet with key actors working in humanitarian #MineAction.
Sudan is heavily contaminated, posing serious #risks to conflict-affected communities. FSD hopes to support mine action #efforts in the country in the near future.

Communities in Bangsamoro, #Philippines, still face daily risks from UXOs. FSD delivered a five-day #training for staff of the new Operational Centre, helping improve reporting, #communication, and #coordination with disposal teams.

We found that mine action is already being impacted by climatic and environmental change, that the tool increases awareness, that it is adaptable and that it contributes to global #MineAction obligations. It's pretty cool.
