Association of a Genetic Risk Score With BMI Across Different Birth Cohorts This observational study uses Health and Retirement Study data to compare associations between body mass index (BMI) and a genetic risk score for BMI among 4 adult cohorts born between 1924 and 1958.

8/11 Important note: This doesn't mean weight is predetermined. The same genetic risk for obesity has become more influential in recent generations due to environmental changes like calorie-rich foods and sedentary lifestyles.
