She is portrayed as the head of state in her parliament robes of crimson-velvet lined with ermine. She is sat in front of a green curtain and a pillar. On the pillar behind her, there are female figures on medallions that associate the queen with the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity, and the cardinal virtues of Justice, Prudence, Temperance and Fortitude

This glorious portrait was bought by the Corporation of Dover in 1598, and is on permanent display in Dover Museum.
