On #ThisDayInHistory in 1943, the #Nazi Luftwaffe bombed Allied ships in #Bari, #Italy, putting the port out of commission. The US & UK covered up the fact that American cargo ship #SSJohnHarvey was carrying #MustardGas, which was spread through the area.

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1988, the Iraqi state and #ChemicalAli used #MustardGas to kill 5,000 #Kurds in #Halabja as a part of the #AlAnfal campaign of #KurdishGenocide. Over 100,000 were killed and 80% of the settlements in #IraqiKurdistan were destroyed by the #Baathist régime.
