Fray and Myste are holding hands. They are captioned as follows:
Fray: The human heart you repressed in order to keep fulfilling your role as hero. They teach you "dark knights protect those who need it most" and increasingly desperately try to get through to you that this includes yourself, please, they need you. A bit of a jokester with an endearing awkwardness to them. Tries to act as imposing as they look, but fails to hide that they're really just some guy excited to hang out with their best friend, namely you. They're your own feelings, but you've become so estranged that they have a hard time telling what you're thinking. You're stronger than them and don't need them, but even so they want to mean something to you.
Myste: The loneliness of countless dark knights stored in the soul crystal reached critical mass, and in response Myste appeared so that he could console them and be their friend. It's never said outright, but he's pretty clearly implied to be the will of the soul crystal itself. A cheerful boy with a strong fondness of those who help others and the urge to help them in return. He grows frustrated that the reunions he facilitates only lead to more partings and tries to make his illusions cover the whole world, but it's all because he just doesn't want to leave his friends the dark knights alone. The childish dream of a world where nobody has to experience loss or sadness ever again that lies at the core of every dark knight.

Wol: Shouldn't endangering the elderly be punished severely though? (optional dialogue referring to the excuse the temple knights used to kidnap that girl)
Fray, shocked: R-really? But that kind of thing just happens when kids play...
Fray: A-haha, I get it! You're joking! You really got me there.
Fray and Wol are running away from the Amalj'aa encampent covered in blood during the level 45 quest. One of the Amalj'aa yells "You'll pay for this with your blood!" and Fray responds "Send me an invoice!"
Wol ranting to the Crystal Exarcy: -and then the embodiment of my own repressed feelings told me they want nothing more than to just travel with me and support me in my endeavours and their greatest regret is ever allowing duty to let us grow apart to the point where they had to be locked away in the name of a greater good (because I repressed them in order to continue to adequately fulfil my role as hero) but the body that lets them speak to me again in spite of it is on a hard time limit and cannot follow me for long and they also just don't believe they're capable of being the kind of hero I am (because I repressed them to become that hero in the first place) but I'm the most important person in the world to them and they desperately want to do literally anything at all for me so eventually they concluded the only option was to decide what's best for me behind my back and take on a burden that we could and should have shared
