On Feb 20, Cloudflare lost 1,100+ BYOIP prefixes from BGP for 6 hours. No attack, just one buggy API query that ran before anyone could stop it.
Large-scale routing automation is fragile. Independent visibility and control over your own network isn't a nice-to-have.
