Today, I stand with Liberty. Not as a symbol of the past, but as a demand for the future
We’re writing a new declaration—not just against tyranny, but for dignity, truth, and justice
No more silence or complicity!

@borowitzreport.bsky.social is asking for a moral uprising, rooted in conscience—rational human beings against tyranny.
We need some #GRIT !
Get Rid of Injustice and Tyranny.
#ResistTyranny #NewDeclaration
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to break from those who rule through lies, fear, and corruption, we must name the reasons why.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: that power must serve the people, not itself.
I started, now let’s finish it together. #NewDeclaration
SECTION VI - THE FINAL DECLARATION Let it be known: We do not recognize the moral or constitutional authority of a government that operates in service of wealth and control rather than life and care. We do not accept its terms. We do not fear its labels. We do not wait for its permission. We do not pledge allegiance to a system that treats people as labor, land as commodity, difference as disorder, and dissent as threat. We do not forget. We do not forgive the erasures. We do not overlook the patterns. We do not return to silence. We stand in the tradition of every person who has ever refused to be made invisible. We inherit the will of those who were enslaved, displaced, criminalized, sterilized, redlined, and erased We speak the language of the uninvited, the unpaid, the undocumented, the uninsurable, and the unbanked. We are not one people. We are many people--finally ready to stand together. This declaration is not the end of our participation. It is the beginning of our authorship. We do not abolish democracy. We reclaim it. We do not fear collapse. We prepare for divergence. We do not ask to be governed better. We demand the right to govern ourselves- locally, directly, collectively, with compassion, with memory, with care. And to any future that may be watching: This was the moment we said no This was the moment we remembered we could write something better. This was the moment we declared what was always ours to declare- Independence Page 9 of 9
It is time we declared independence from a tyrannical government and those too entrenched to help us.
It is time we the people stop waiting.
People are in danger now.
We need to stop waiting for permission.

SECTION V - WHAT WE ARE BUILDING INSTEAD We are not walking away from society. We are walking away from a system that requires inequality to exist. We are not seeking to destroy, We are seeking to rebuild-on terms rooted in equity, accountability, and care. We are building systems where food is not sold for profit, but grown and shared. Where housing is not leveraged for investment., but offered as a human right. Where healthcare is not rationed by insurance, but delivered with dignity. Where education is not filtered through debt, but freely given and co-created. Where justice is not measured in punishment, but in restoration and repair. We are building communities that govern themselves- not through hierarchy, but through participation. Not through surveillance, but through trust. Not through scarcity, but through mutual abundance. We are using what we already know. The open-source, the ancestral, the undocumented, the unwritten. We are learning from those who were never invited into power-and writing new terms that leave no one behind. We will make mistakes. But they will be ours to learn from- not theirs to ignore. We are building systems that can adapt, not exploit. That can collapse and regenerate--because they are rooted in relationship, not domination. We are building with the belief that time belongs to people, not production. That worth is not earned through labor, but inherent in being alive. We are building something slow. Something real. Something that cannot be taken, bought, or sold. And we are not waiting. Page 8 of 9

SECTION IV - WHAT WE DECLARE We declare that the legitimacy of any government lies not in history, tradition, or authority--but in its ability to protect and uplift all people, equally and without exception. We declare that no law, no office, no constitution, and no flag has the right to demand our loyalty while denying us our humanity. We declare that systems which extract more than they restore, which punish more than they protect, and which survive by making others disposable, are no longer entitled to our participation. We declare that survival is not enough. That dignity, rest, safety, and care are not luxuries, but the minimum conditions of any system worth building. We declare that consent must be active, ongoing, and mutual-and we are withdrawing ours. We do not owe allegiance to institutions that treat us as problems to be managed. We owe allegiance to each other. We declare that power must be accountable to the people, not insulated from them. 'That land must be shared, not hoarded. That knowledge must be free, not sold. That care must be available, not weaponized. That time must be lived, not sold We do not seek control. We seek liberation. We do not seek vengeance. We seek repair. We are not here to restore what was. We are here to build what should have been. And we will do so- together without permission, and without apology. Page 7 of 9

SECTION III - WHAT WE REJECT We reject a government that calls itself democratic, but governs through wealth, coercion, and spectacle. We reject a constitution that protects property more than people. We reject an economy that requires suffering to function. We reject courts that uphold injustice in the name of tradition. We reject elections manipulated by money, gerrymandering, and voter suppression. We reject a healthcare system where survival is sold. We reject a criminal legal system that punishes trauma, race, and poverty. We reject borders drawn to control labor, not protect life. We reject the belief that land must be owned to be safe, that knowledge must be purchased to be legitimate, that rest must be earned to be deserved, and that care must be conditional to be given. We reject the myth of neutrality, the weaponization of law, and the normalization of inequality. We reject the idea that change must come slowly, that justice must be negotiated, or that freedom must be branded. We do not ask for power. We refuse its current form. Page 6 of 9

SECTION II- GRIEVANCES On Healthcare and the Value of Life: . . On Housing and Displacement: On Labor and Economic Exploitation: Over 68,000 Americans die every year due to lack of health insurance, while the U.S. spends more per capita on healthcare than any other country. Pharmaceutical corporations are allowed to charge up to ten times more for insulin and essential medications than peer nations. Medical debt remains the leading cause of bankruptcy in the U.S. Public funds for COVID-19 vaccines were converted into private profit, with companies charging for taxpayer-funded medicine Police are dispatched to respond to mental health crises due to lack of accessible, trauma-informed community care. Over half a million people live unhoused while more than 16 million housing units remain vacant. There is no constitutional right to shelter; instead, housing is treated as an investment vehicle Public housing was defunded while mortgage interest and luxury developments were subsidized. Evictions continue during health emergencies and extreme weather without systemic protection The federal minimum wage remains $7.25/hour, unchanged since 2009, while productivity has nearly doubled. Workers are misclassified as independent contractors to avoid Paying benefits. Union busting and wage theft are enabled by a legal system that prioritizes employers.
Unemployment benefits are entangled in bureaucracy and stigma, punishing those already struggling: On Policing, Incarceration, and Structural Control: • The U.S. maintains the world's largest prison population, with over 2 million incarcerated • For-profit prisons profit from incarceration while exploiting prison labor, • Police departments are militarized while public services are defunded. • Policing targets protest, poverty, disability, and racialized communities. On Environmental Harm and Climate Collapse: Fossil fuel companies receive over $20 billion in subsidies annually. Pipelines cut through Indigenous lands; clean water remains inaccessible in places like Flint, Michigan. Environmental activists are criminalized while polluters receive legal protections. On Education and Information Control: • Public schools are underfunded while charter schools and privatization grow. • Over $1.7 trillion in student debt burdens millions. • H I istory is whitewashed; teachers are threatened for telling the truth. • School policing harms disabled, Black, and neurodivergent youth. On Ncurodivergence, and Disability Injustice: Divergence is pathologized and punished rather than understood. Page 4 of 9
•Systems require repeated "proof" of suffering to access basic support. Forced institutionalization and restraint practices remain legal. On Immigration, Borders, and Citizenship: Families are separated and asylum seekers detained without due process. Undocumented labor is exploited without equal protection. Migration is criminalized while displacement is enabled by U.S. foreign and economic policy: On War, Empire, and Global Harm: U.S. wars and interventions have destabilized regions and killed hundreds of thousands. The U.S. supports authoritarian regimes that serve its economic and strategic interests. Military spending eclipses public investment in basic human needs. On Constitutional Failure and Democratic Collapse: • Money controls clections through lobbying, PACs, and corporate donations. • Voter suppression and gerrymandering disenfranchise millions. • Courts overturn laws supported by the majority. • Dissent is criminalized, truth manipulated, and power insulated. These are not signs of dysfunction. They are the intended outcomes of systems built to protect wealth, hierarchy, and control. We have attempted every method of redress available within this structure. Our refusal now is not impulsive. It is earned. Page 5 of 9

Section 2/6
THE NEW DECLARATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL DIVERGENCE SECTION I - THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW CONSENT When the power of government is used to secure wealth, to shield corporations from accountability, to suppress dissent, to privatize care, and to criminalize the conditions it creates-it forfeits its claim to legitimacy. When courts uphold cruelty as law, when lawmakers serve donors instead of the public, when entire communities are policed instead of protected, and when the right to survive is contingent on employment, insurance, or citizenship--then consent is no longer governance. It is coercion. This government, as it exists today, does not serve the people. It extracts from them. It drains the labor, time, and dignity of millions to preserve the wealth of a few. It allows corporations to poison water, jack up rent, inflate medical bills, and lock life behind paywalls--then calls that freedom It rewards those who hoard and punishes those who care. It builds police budgets while closing schools. It legislates surveillance instead of shelter. It protects oil profits while the planet burns. And every time we demand more-more care, more fairness, more truth--we are told to wait. To vote harder. To choose between two pre- approved answers to a question we never asked. We are done waiting. This is not cynicism. This is recognition. We have tried reform. We have tried protest. We have tried the courts. We have tried every channel this system told us to use--and we watched those channels re- route us back to the same place: back to compliance.
This is not democracy. It is managed inequality, disguised by ccremony and backed by force. And so, with full awareness of what this means, we withdraw our consent from the existing structure of American governance. Not out of disloyalty to people, but out of loyalty to life. We do not do this in haste. We do this because the evidence is overwhelming. Because the harm is measurable. Because the pattern is predictable. And because the system, as written and practiced, refuses to change. We declare our right to self-determination. To community over compliance. To care over punishment. To truth over narrative. To build what comes next without asking permission, Let the record show: this is not rebellion. This is refusal. And this is the beginning of something better Page 2 of 9
