...although, actually, it doesn't really matter. The bridge is opt in right now, so even without #nobridge, it won't do anything with your account or posts until you explicitly enable it.

I haven't tried bridging my account yet and have put #nobridge in my profile to prevent it being bridged automatically. I'll bridge my mastodon account eventually. This is what I found how to do it, but as I said, haven't tried it myself:

I'd love a self serve way other than #nobridge! The catch is proving ownership of a domain. There are many ways to do that, but not many (if any) that are widely accessible and easy for non-techies besides sending (authenticated) email from it.

He has stated that if a) you have set your BSky acct to not be visible to third parties, it will ignore you or b) if you put #nobridge in your bio it will ignore you. FWIW.

Pulling this out at the risk of drowning it in Super Bowl chatter. Setting your account to reduce public visibility is the same as #nobridge in your bio. (I'd screenshot the setting but my OS is in French and the vast majority of my community is Anglophone.)

Good call. Fortunately, it looks like you've disabled bsky.app's public view of your account, and I plan to have Bridgy Fed interpret that as opt out, so you don't actually need #nobridge.

I added #nobridge to my profile bio and recommend you do too if you don't understand what Bridgy is going to do. (Then read up on it and reevaluate your decision.)
