Waiting for a Star to Fall is, by my standards (also as a goth kid & adult), one of the most romantic songs ever written. I have it on my heavy rotation “love songs” playlist, & I dream of having some older GenX dude put it on a playlist (since we don’t do mix tapes any more) for me.
