Gradually coming out of my post-con gloom. After #OBaWS I was pretty convinced Mon and Tues that I wasn't going to be gaming again.
Indeed, Tuesday was the bleakest I've been about *everything* for a long time.
But now am planning again and talking to people without wanting to punch them...

TLDR: A boutique con run by an auteur that acts as a meeting point and melting pot for TTRPG grand wizards from North and South.
#OBaWS in my game I had a young guy. He’s got some stuff up on Adventurers’ League and is considering writing his own game. Throughout the game he was amazing correcting all my calculations. At the end he pointed out a maths mistake on a pregen sheet and suggested I action occur even if people…..

I’m a pretty sure I’m a TTRPG good Referee but sometimes it’s difficult to keep up the presence.
The Owl Bear and The Wizard’s Staff #OBaWS is a good convention. But it’s a bit like a real-world Grand Tribunal of TTRPG Grandmaster Wizards. Looking around. Seeing.

Home again from The Owlbear and Wizard’s Staff day 2. #OBaWS Played Wildsea for the first time, with @icooper.bsky.social - much weirdness around our bar in the skeleton of a leviathan. Then chatting and minor challenges with trains.
Another wonderful #OBaWS is sadly complete.

Having enjoyed two excellent games at #OBaWS convention yesterday, I have an addendum to RPG theory:
System matters...but in 3 hour convention one shots, it doesn't matter very much
Got back from #OBaWS just over an hour ago, great weekend! Thanks to @asako-soh.bsky.social for organising and thanks to @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social and @firstage.bsky.social for running Blade Runner and Warhammer respectively. I ran Star Wars D6 Scavenger Hunt twice, thanks to all the players.
Back from #OBaWS a little early, woke up the sniffles and a bit of a sore throat.. decided to get an earlier train.
Had so much fun though...played Outgunned and Star Wars - got to play a failed Jedi - was fairly obvious why they were failed.
And ran my Rivers of London/Enid Blytonesque 1939

Day one of #OBaWS in the bag - played Runequest with @dracowie.bsky.social at the helm, and ran @evilhat.bsky.social Deathmatch Island is its backstabby, betrayal-laden one-shot format. Excellent fun and hat tip to @matthewbroome.bsky.social for making it all happen!

Played Runequest with @dracowie.bsky.social, with a motley crew following a treasure map. And Triangle Agency with @druggeddwarf.bsky.social, making sense of a local threat to reality. Good stuff. #OBaWS
So #OBaWS over for me for this year. Train down, two great games. Met people - @thedicemechanic.bsky.social at last - train home. Gonna work out Super cheap.
