I wrote a book (again); here have some stats about it!
Compared to Draft 1, roughly 40.5k words were added, totaling 118,501 for Draft 2. I'd say about 75% of it was rewritten, leaving the major locales the same. But this is it - this is what I'm happy with.

But doodled #OSaS Deryk in preparation for draft 2 end. On top of figuring out beta readers, I'm realizing I have zero clue what to do about the actual cover ;n;
Don't think my skills would suffice--
I'm excited.
Reached the last chapter for #OSaS Draft 2 today, 1k words in.
This will be done by end of week, and then the cleanup draft begins.
I am scared of how many things the spell check will find.

There must be a reason why they’re only eager to do this now. “Well, let’s go tonight, and see what it is. If they try to hide anything, I’ll be watching~” Suvi grinned and nosed his cheek. “Stop being mad, or I’ll bite you.” That broke the wall, and with an unserious scoff, Deryk turned and mouthed over their snout. Suvi’s retaliation was swift and even drew a little blood from his chin.

A part of me hates that I don't have much of anything to share while I'm writing.
It's all just 2nd draft for #OSaS. Don't think my prose there is good enough for sharing WIP segments--
Will say though, that now that act 3 is underway, I'm enjoying how radically different it's become.

The sheer pleasure I find in writing heartwarming, lovey scenes of cuteness is tempered by the fact that I'm now doing this knowing I'm going to be almost killing one of my boys.
The calm before the storm is a fun place to be in.

Small writing venting--
As I'm drafting the end of #OSaS act 2, the imposter feels come in. Sure, not everyone will like it, but I look at what I've done so far and I think,
"There's better things for people to read than this."
"What am I even doing?"
"Who's this for?"
Another chapter done today, putting me past my first problem part of the story.
However, I'm getting to the part where I get to write dragon hatchling fun and bonding with their favorite biped, and I am so excited to get there.

Finished d1 mid-2024; barely touched d2 in 2025.
Finally picking it back up and finished Ch.14 today; so far WAY closer to my vision.
Not even at the halfway point, and I'm sitting at about 55.5k words x3
d1 was almost 72k.
