It's more of a change in mindset that needs to happen and then process changes will flow easily after that.
It's possible as many services do alllow this

Allowing people different means of communication- emails, texts instead of phone calls really isn't that hard

#OTChat delays can exacerbate issues for the autistic people and families. Schools in particular can fine parents if children fo not attend due to emotional based refusal without a diagnosis. Trauma.
Finding out a person’s preferred method of communication before you see them.
Act as an advocate for them when needed and contribute to the evidence base. #OTChat

Mistrust in the systems, waiting on lists where they will never be seen, not attending health appointments at all.

A lot of autistic people have faced years of being dismissed and not believed when talking to health professionals about their health concerns.
This then understandably makes many apprehensive to seek out any help from healthcare professionals
