Trackers e.g., like #Octamed or #Renoise, can pack surprisingly dense amount of complexity. If one wrote a tracker-to-daw-project converter, it would require N * M separate tracks, where N is the number of channels in the tracker, and M is the number of instruments used in the project.

this will just take the current track and spread the notes, keeping the note off etc. you can increment and decrement, or shoot to "4 note columns" or "12 note columns" (1...12 note columns).

what were you favorite features in #OctaMED? I'd be very interested in hearing which ones you liked the most - as I'm attempting to script OctaMED features into #Renoise using #LUA. I've thus far scripted the "Pick / Put Row" feature, which is wild.

This weekend I watched a guy on YouTube rebuild a Fairlight CMI 2.
It’s the sound of many 80s songs.
The result was basically #OctaMED on the Amiga, but about 5 years earlier and much more expensive.
Today QuasarBeach offers the best emulator.
