So the issue with my scanner isn't about the scanner, it's photoshop not recognizing the 32-bit drivers, it's also probably windows too. Last time windows didn't recognize half of the scan settings, and the scanner is 20+ years old, I didn't get it new, husband rescued it from a previous job - they got new and were throwing all the old out.
I just have to scan outside of photoshop. I had an old version of vuescan that I ended up buying because the free version puts a big black diagonal watermark across the scan. It'll be a few years before I have the funds to get a new one, so I paid the fee to unlock it.
I'm glad it's not the scanner, because 12x17 flatbed, and I cannot afford to replace it right now, eventually I know I will have to.
