My OpenWRT for my servers router decided to die, which made me realize that I really need to fix something that is redudant.
Preferably something rack-mounted, something that can run OPNsense - and not something that costs to much.
Ideas?

Twiddling firewall rules went no where, and the issue recurred after a nuke'n pave and importing some known-working config backups.

Ik heb vandaag mijn #opnsense firewall eens gemigreerd naar de nieuw v26 release. Daarbij ook meteen de rulebase gemigreerd naar het nieuwe format en de ISC DHCP service vervangen voor de KEA DHCP variant.
Initieel zag ik er wel tegenop, maar achteraf was het een fluitje van een cent.

"Reset to defaults" + Reconfigure manually by hand (in the new rules interface) was the only way I could get it to work.
My unwavering optimism is evident in the fact that I already have the first open-source hardware for the Erich Mรผhsam Foundation network, without knowing where it will be installed. It is a 6 W firewall from Thomas Krenn and an open-source router from the OpenWRT community. It costs one-hundredth of an Apple device. It really belongs to you, but you need an IQ above 11. Whether that's the case for me remains to be seen, but it's worth a try.
