5 colour orienteering map. Calder Wood 1:7500 drawn by Robert Bloor. On a photogrammetric base map so a bit of an investment. The area is a lightly wooded plateau between two rivers. Slopes to the river are steep.

Thinly wooded area with scattered old trees. There is much fallen timber on the ground. An orienteering control flag is hung in the middle distance.

Woodland in Winter. Little ground vegetation, there are exposed rocks on the right and damage from an open fire on the left. There is a hint of a big drop off in the background. Hermitage, north side of gorge.

1:15000 drawn five colour map of a camps and three parks in the suburbs of southern Edinburgh, Most of the yellow was grazed by dairy cattle then. There are now separate maps of Braidburn Valley Park, Braid Hills, Blackford Hill, Craigmillar Park Golf Course and King's Buildings campus. Andy Curtis and Bill Gauld Course is probably Wednesday afternoon entertainment Start and finish at KBU

An #EUOC workhorse at the time. Two tiny fragments are now mapped and used alone - KB and Braidburn Valley Park. Southern part is a golf course and still used for night events.

The southern three quarters of a very fine scribed orienteering map by Harvey's Map Services. Mostly green, quite a brutal forest. Much of the area seems not to be used now, only the more runnable south near Aberfoyle. Green with fine lines - a beautiful map.

Achray 1979. Chopped in two - the big part of the map was used for the individual Scottish Championships and the northern bit the relay run by #EUOC . Harveys made it for the 6 days. #OldOrienteeringMaps #OrienteeringMaps #FVO #Trossachs #Perthshire
