People from the large mahogany jungles in the Canopus region. Formerly open to visitors, their land has been closed since the Great Impact. Mortal enemies of the Sculk and the Cult of the Echo due to their ability to completely avoid detection and innate capacity for invisibility. Most reside within their territory, but it is not unheard of for a Mith to take up residence in distant towns that still remain in the world.
Mith have 2-4 antennae, a mane, 4 arms with 2 fingers and 1 thumb on each, abdomen, 4 wings, 2 compound eyes, and a chitin 'faceplate' or 'mask'.
Common patterns on clothes and carapace painting include sweeping scripts. These represent the melodic nature of Mith language (Mithid) and its rise and fall. Each line has minute differences in their amplitude and wavelength that Mith can understand at a glance. Multiple lines combined will change the meanings.
Mithid as a language includes an olfactory element, as Mith have fine control over their own scent. Different scents will change the meanings of spoken elements.
Art forms using written Mithid script use special inks, dyes, or fabrics made specifically to have certain scents, as scentless Mithid will come off as very clinical to readers. Non-scented written Mithid is most commonly used for signage and labels.
A lack of script within clothing patterns may represent a more reserved or closed off person, just as much as it may be a simple fashion choice.
Mith can wear anything, cloaks are just popular as theyre most convenient to wear over wings.

The Mith have done just fine in the centuries since the Great Impact, having pushed Pillager bands away from their territory and completely eradicated Sculk from beneath the mahogany jungles. There is some debate on reopening the jungles for visitors and outside residents, as the fear of spies and sabotage still lingers in those that remember the years shortly after the Great Impact. Even now, they are one of the only remaining large cities that exist in the world.
- Mith can display the full array of colors, but neutral colors (brown, black, grey, white) tend do show most commonly.
- Their wings are extremely durable and flexible. Older mith will traditionally wrap their wings around themselves like a cloak when not using them, but its trendy these days for younger Mith to style them differently when not in use.
- If the tiny scales on their wings rub off, they grow back within a day.
- Consensual polyamory is common, but it isn't considered strange if one is not.
- Mith diets consist of plants, fibers, and sugary liquid. They can't digest meat, but their sense of taste is just as advanced as their olfactory senses.
- Mith are often familiar with other languages in the Canopus region and can speak them just fine.
- The lifespans of Mith can vary wildly, and most will live a minimum of 200 years.
- Gender is considered on a fluid measure of Waxing (feminine) and Waning (masculine). They are not mutually exclusive, some seek them in equal parts and some seek neither. One's interpretation may differ from another.
Antennae relax and become 'droopy' with age. Mane and setae may desaturate as well, but wings will always keep their true color.
