Reading January 2004 issue of PC Zone magazine, and damn, what a year it was. It's also impressive to see Stalker: Oblivion Lost listed among such a heavy hitters (even though it ended up releasing only in 2007).

Got Atari 400 Mini on a deep sale, a replica of one of the first home computers ever. Disappointed that it doesn't have an actual membrane keyboard, but it is what it is. Selection of games is weird (Star Raiders 2 over the original is a travesty), but it supports 8-bit ROM emulation from USB.

If you think that a "shorter games should cost less" sentiment was originated in the '10s, check out this reader's letter from July 2003 issue of PC Gamer magazine. The guy was complaining that Splinter Cell was too short compared to TES Morrowind and Freelancer, so it didn't worth his money.

While reading the September 2003 issue of a PC Gamer US magazine, I've noticed this chart in an article about the "real cost" of piracy. I find the "piracy level" percentage and countries' selection for it a little strange (no CIS or LATAM regions?), but it's still interesting nonetheless.

Another great time capsule from an 1996 issue of PC Zone magazine. Few people remember how big the "Multimedia" craze was back in the 90s. So many devs were adding FMVs with real actors to their games even when it wasn't needed. Oh, and I'm definitely not miss the disc swapping.
